Cuba thanks MEPs for their position in the face of meddling actions

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 3 (ACN) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, Miguel Diaz-Canel, expressed to members of the European Left Party the gratitude of the Cuban people for their opposition to the meddling maneuvers being orchestrated against the island in the European Parliament.

This was highlighted today on Twitter by Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, who referred to a meeting of Diaz-Canel, on Wednesday at the Palace of the Revolution, with MEPs belonging to the most progressive wing of the European body.

The Cuban foreign minister highlighted the gratitude expressed by the Cuban head of state to the European parliamentarians for the constant solidarity with the Caribbean island in the face of the tightening of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade.

The European delegation is made up of deputies Martin Schirdewan, co-chairman of The Left; Manu Pineda, Sandra Pereira, Konstatinos Arvanitis, Giorgos Georgiou, Sira Rego, Elena Kountoura, Leila Chaibi and Maria Eugénia Rodriguez Palop, as well as other officials from Spain, Greece, Portugal and France.
