Cuban industry strengthens water treatment system

HAVANA, Cuba, 26 (ACN) A year after its establishment, the joint venture Acuanova S.A. has extended its portfolio of clients and integral services to the production, marketing and maintenance of Cuban water treatment plants.

“We are working together with the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources in the design and assembly of seven drinking water treatment plants across Cuba to service our communities,” general manager Rigoberto Martínez Mejías told ACN.

The projects include the design and operation of an imported plant at the National Biopreparations Center (Biocen) and a pre-treatment system for the Molecular Immunology Center (CIM) to increase the filtration of particles that generate turbidity, as well as small-scale water purification systems for hotels to stop using plastic water bottles for the benefit of environmental sustainability.

Furthermore, Acuanova S.A. provides maintenance and other specific solutions to improve the capacity of the water treatment plants in Cuban tourist centers and is also working at a power plant in eastern Cuba to recycle the water discarded by the treatment plant and improve its effectiveness.

Acuanova S.A. came into being in January 2021 with the help of the German manufacturing company Grünbeck, holder of more than 100 patents related to water treatment systems.
