HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 9 (ACN) In 2022 Cuba will continue its policy of international cooperation and solidarity to increase exchange with friends around the world, in person or virtually, as allowed by the COVID-19 prevention measures, said an official in this capital in recent statements to the press.
Victor Gaute, vice president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), pointed out that Cuba will continue to support all just causes and the peace and sovereignty of the peoples, and it will keep denouncing terrorism.
He described 2021 as a fruitful year of victories marked by a sustained increase in solidarity and expressions of friendship from countless friends worldwide who support the work of the Revolution and stress that Cuba is not alone.
Notwithstanding the COVID-19 pandemic and the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States more than half a century ago.
“We aim to have even better results in the year 2022,” he added. “Last year, condemnation of the genocidal U.S. policy ranked first in the world activism in favor of the Island, with almost 14,000 pro-Cuba events in 143 countries, including actions against the blockade and donations of medical and other supplies.”
How to further socialize the contents of the social networks and multiply the effects of online events organized by friends from all continents in support of the Cuban Revolution, is a great challenge for this year, the ICAP vice-president stressed.
Nowadays, there are 1,653 Cuba Friendship Associations in 155 countries, whereas 75 solidarity organizations of graduates from 64 countries who studied in Cuban schools are also active.
