Cuban President: “ALBA is Integration and Rejoice of Sharing in Family again”

Havana, Dec 14 (ACN) The First Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel stressed on Twitter the dialogs shared by Latin American and Caribbean leaders motivated by brotherhood and regional integration during the 20th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), which was held Tuesday, December 14 in Havana.

History, politics and democracies considering antecedents and contexts were issues addressed by the long dialogs among the leaders said Diaz-Canel and went on to note that either in Spanish or in English, ALBA means integration and offers the rejoice of sharing in family again, said Diaz-Canel.

The Cuban president also evoked the legacies of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, who were the pioneers of the ALBA-TCP.

During the summit, the heads of state and government debated on the need to strengthen cooperation, unity, independence, sovereignty and solidarity.

The final declaration of the summit denounced the intervention-oriented moves which, in the name of democracy, inflict chaos on the region, and it also calls to increase food production in a coordinated way among all ALBA member states.

The document also rejects Washington’s blacklisting of Cuba as a country sponsor of international terrorism and demands the lifting of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of the Cuban people.
