Cuban FM stresses commitment to maternal and child health

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 10 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, said today on Twitter that Cuba's commitment to maternal and child health is a tangible fact, on the occasion of this Friday's celebration of the International Human Rights Day.

On the same social media, Rodríguez Parrilla highlighted the survival rate in children under 5 years of age, which in Cuba reaches 99.4 %, and also underlined the country's achievements in terms of the infant mortality rate.

Maternal and child health care in Cuba is a priority for the Cuban State. The implementation of the National Program for Maternal and Infant Care and the guarantee of equitable access to health services are an example of this.
