Cuban power plants about to work at full capacity

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 9 (ACN) During a visit to the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric power plant (CTE) in the province of Matanzas, Cuban Minister of Energy and Mines Liván Arronte Cruz highlighted the progress in the repair of power generators and the recovery of electricity production in the country’s power plants, despite difficulties regarding the arrival of some resources.

Arronte Cruz praised the CTE workers for their willingness to undertake the ongoing maintenance work, scheduled to be finished in about 72 hours, to maintain a stable load ranging from 260 to 270 megawatts.

CTE director Misbel Palmero Aguilar explained that this brief maintenance included the cooling and subsequent cleansing of the regenerative air heaters, one of their high-flow boiler feed valve, and a condenser.
