Havana, Nov 25 (ACN) The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (COSUDE) made a powdered milk donation to Cuba particularly aimed at vulnerable population sectors.
The donation hand-over ceremony was held at Havana’s Belen Convent with the attendance of local authorities and representatives of the World Food Program.
The donation will benefit over 20 thousand citizens during some eight months and it’s part of actions by the World Food Program to assist the country against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June 2021, COSUDE shipped over 100 tons of powdered milk to Cuba particularly aimed at family assistance centers and the eastern Cuban provinces, as well as healthcare centers and schools in the old section of Havana assisting vulnerable population groups.
Since 2002, Swiss donations to the WFO have reached some 7 million dollars with over 90 percent of them dedicated to the purchase of food.
