HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 26 (acn) Salvador Valdes Mesa, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (CC of the PCC) and Vice-president of the Council of State, received Simon Khaya Moyo, President of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), the party of the government of that African nation.
During the talks, held on Friday morning, the two leaders ratified the historic bonds of friendship and solidarity existing between the PCC and the ZANU-PF and spoke about topics of bilateral interest, particularly about the effects of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the island by the United States.
Participating in the meeting were, for Zimbabwe, the Secretary of the Commissioner for Women's Affairs, Olivia Muchena, and the charge d'áffaires of Zimbabwe's embassy to Havana, Pendukai Mutekwa. Cuba was also represented by Jose Ramon Balaguer, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and head of its Department of International Relations, as well as other PCC officials.
