HOLGUÍN, Cuba, Jul 15 (ACN) Around 128 educational centers in the province of Holguin are ready to support the health intervention against COVID-19 for people over 19 years of age.
María Elena Ricardo Cables, health advisor of the Provincial Division of Education, told ACN that, in view of the wide coverage foreseen in the vaccination process, the sector contributed with local staff to cooperate with this important effort to tackle the spread of the pandemic in the country.
The said schools, she remarked, are certified by the Public Health authority and meet the necessary requirements, namely, refrigeration equipment to preserve the bulbs, a stable water supply system, and waiting and observation rooms for those who will receive the dose of the Cuban immunogen.
At present, 73 institutions are operating as vaccination sites since Sunday 11th, following the arrival in the province of 300,000 doses of the Cuban vaccine Abdala, which is 92.28% effective and was the first to get the permit for emergency use from the regulatory authority.
In order to support the proper progress of this sanitary process, the workers of the education sector are helping to keep the premises clean and maintain public order during the vaccination process, the specialist pointed out.
