SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Jul 13 (ACN) The Retomed Medical Equipment Company of this city is producing beds for isolation centers opened by the COVID-19, in response to the request of the highest authorities of the province of Santiago de Cuba due to the complex epidemiological situation.
Made of aluminum with wooden frames, in a few days the entity should complete the 800 beds for this purpose so far this year.
Retomed executives pointed out to the Cuban News Agency that the bedding product is well accepted, due to its lightness, which makes it easy to transport, strength and surface characteristics for easy disinfection.
Personnel from the Basic Business Units (UEB) Woodworking, Productive Services and Gastronomic Furniture have also participated in the repair of different types of clinical furniture such as beds, stretchers, chairs, trolleys and medicine cabinets.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Retomed has supported the delivery of beds and bunk beds for isolation centers and the field hospital in the Veguitas area, in El Caney, in the midst of the difficult economic situation the country is going through, especially regarding imports.
Retomed was opened by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on July 23, 1988 and its main goal is medical equipment, but it also participates in agri-food, social and other programs with a social impact.
