HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 15 (acn) A Cuban delegation headed by Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs and member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, arrived in New Zealand on Sunday at the invitation of Hon Murray McCully, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of that nation.
For the first time, a Cuban high level delegation visits New Zealand, with which the willingness of the Caribbean country to continue expanding and strengthening good relations between the two nations is reaffirmed, the Granma newspaper reported on Monday.
During his two-day stay, the Cuban Minister will meet with the Governor-General of New Zealand, The Right Honorable Sir Jerry Mateparae; with the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Business, Murray McCully and Tim Groser, respectively; and with honorable David Shearer, member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade of the Labor Party.
The Cuban delegation is also composed of Miguel Angel Ramirez, director for Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affaire, and Cuba's ambassador to New Zealand, Maria del Carmen Herrera.
