UNDP Energy Program Benefits Cuban Communities

Havana, May 19 (ACN) The UNDP Energy Resilience Program for Rural Communities based on renewable energy sources has benefitted over 200 Cuban rural communities.

The Havana-based UNDP office says that the operation of 827 solar panel systems in the Cuban rural communities already provide energy to over two thousand people.

The renewable energy program is being co-sponsored by the European Union as a contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda in Cuba.

The UNDP office in Havana promotes a more dynamic and competitive economy, the preservation of social achievements as well as the increasing use of renewable energy sources.
