HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 5 (acn) The World Campaign of Solidarity with The Five and against Terrorism, which will take place until October 6 in 38 nations, began on Thursday in Cuba.
From the capital's Copacabana Hotel, where young Italian Fabio Di Celmo died as a consequence of a terrorist attack in 1997, the release from prison of Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez and Ramon Labañino, incarcerated in the United States for 16 years now, was demanded.
Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez, two of The Five, are already in Cuba after serving their unfair sentences.
Haymel Espinosa, president of the Cuban Committee of the Victims of State Terrorism, said during the opening of the Campaign that there are already 75 groups of this kind in the world, which today demand justice and denounce the complicity of governments like that of the United States in the protection of terrorists.
Kenia Serrano, president of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples, explained that some 100 solidarity actions began on Thursday around the world, which will be carried out until October 6.
Among these activities we find sit-ins in front of U.S. embassies in various countries, marches, the sending of messages to President Barack Obama, and other actions to denounce the injustice committed against the five Cuban heroes.
