HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 14 (ACN) The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Abu Dhabi Fund project in Cuba is fully operational one year after its inauguration, with a generation capacity increased to 15 megawatts.
According to a tweet posted by the agency this project has brought clean and affordable electricity to the country, while generating jobs and opportunities.
Through a video shared by IRENA, Francesco La Camera, its general director said, from the Cardenas Photovoltaic Park (Matanzas province), that the results obtained are those that the people of Cuba deserve.
He also expressed his wish for the agency to take a more action-oriented route with concrete achievements such as those shown in Cuba thanks to the strategy drawn up for this purpose.
The partnership with the Abu Dhabi fund has been completely relevant and if it continues like this it will attract the attention of other banks and associations to obtain the necessary resources to mark the difference, La Camera said.
This project was opened in Cuba in 2019 with extensive participation from the country's ministry of energy and mines.
