HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 20 (ACN ) The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, received this Friday the special envoy of the Prime Minister of Japan, His Excellency Mr. Keiji Furuya, who is visiting Cuba within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
During the friendly meeting, both sides welcomed the good state of bilateral ties, especially after the visit to Cuba in September 2016 by the Japanese Prime Minister, His Excellency Mr. Shinzo Abe. The occasion was also an opportunity to ratify the common will to expand and diversify ties, especially those of trade and cooperation.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor were His Excellency Kazuhiro Fujimura, Ambassador of Japan to Cuba and Kenichi Masamoto, Director of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean at the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
On the Cuban side, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and the Director of Asia and Oceania of MINREX, Alberto Blanco Silva, were present.
