Cuba and Japan strengthen ties in natural medicine

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 13 (ACN) Cuban Ambassador Miguel Angel Ramirez held an exchange with the Board of Directors of the Japan-Cuba Integrative Medicine Society about the positive impact and potentialities of scientific-technical collaboration between this Japanese society and the Cuban Society of Bioenergetic and Naturalistic Medicine (SCMBN).
Ramirez informed the Japanese executives about Cuba's latest advances in biotechnology, vaccination, rehabilitation system and results in the health system by incorporating unique products developed by Cuban scientific institutions.
An example of the recognition of these advances is, according to him, the results of the clinical trials of the Cuban therapeutic vaccine against hepatitis B (NASVAC) carried out in the Asian country.
He also recognized the role played by the Japanese society, in coordination with its Cuban counterpart, in order to divulge among the doctors of that country the advantages of the Caribbean island's health system, as well as the Japanese techniques of natural and traditional medicine among Cuban doctors.
For his part, the president of the Japanese society, Dr. Ito Toshinori, considered that, through visits to Cuba and exchanges with its doctors, it has been possible to verify the development of integrative medicine in this country.
Cuba represents an international reference as it has a structured government program that guarantees both the knowledge of medical personnel and the access of the population to natural and traditional medicine at all levels of the health system, Toshinori added.
He particularly praised Cuba's success in developing world class unique vaccines, despite the serious limitations imposed by the U.S. blockade, and expressed his willingness to visit the advanced development centers of the country as part of the next program of his visit to BIONAT 2021, where the 4th Japan-Cuba Symposium on Integrative Medicine will be held.
