Cuba attends 12th EUROLAT Plenary Session

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 13 (acn) The twelfth plenary session of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EUROLAT) kicked-off in Panama City, with the presence of a Cuban delegation headed by Luis Morlotte, president of the National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC).

The event is the opportunity for Latin American deputies to share with their European counterparts about issues of main interest to both regions and its inauguration included speeches by the President of Panama´s National Assembly, Marcos Castillero, and Foreign Minister Alejandro Ferrer.
The Cuban delegation also includes deputies Rolando Gonzalez and Enrique Charbone, according to Cubaminrex website.
The meeting is also attended by representatives of the Andean Parliament, the Mercosur Parliament, mixed commissions of the European Union (EU), as well as the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) as an observer.
Several meetings will run during event, including the Committee on Political Affairs, Security and Human Rights, and the Euro-Latin American Women's Forum, among others.
The Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly is a trans-national body composed of 150 parliamentarians from European and Latin American countries and was created in 2006, to improve and promote EU-Latin America relations.
