Cuban senior sports officials visited Qatar

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 12 (acn) A delegation from the Cuban National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) made a three-day work visit to Qatar, Cubaminrex website reported from Doha, capital of that Middle Eastern country.

The Cuban representation, made up by Oscar Nuevo Reyes, director of the High Training Technical Methodology Department, and the specialist Arnaldo Rodriguez, remained on Qatari soil from December 8 to 11.
According to the report, the Cuban representatives toured sports facilities such as the Qatar Anti-Doping Laboratory and the Aspire Academy facilities, where they met Vitaliy Siverskyy, Senior Officer of the Elite Training Camps.
They also held meetings with Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, president of the Qatar Athletics Federation, and executives of the Boxing Federation.
The Cuban-Qatari bilateral relations began in 1989 and were strengthened after the visit of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, to Cuba in 2015.
