Argentine and Cuban leaders stress commitment to strengthening relations

HAVANA, Dec 11 (ACN) Alberto Fernandez, president of Argentina received today his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel, who is visiting the South American nation to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the Argentine president.

Both leaders stressed the common willingness to strengthen bilateral relations and the historical ties of friendship between the two nations and the relevance of fostering economic-commercial relations.
Diaz-Canel heads the Cuban delegation that attended Fernandez´s inauguration ceremony, which also includes foreign affairs minister Bruno Rodriguez and that of foreign trade and investment, Rodrigo Malmierca.
Since last Monday, the Cuban leader has developed an intense work agenda that included a tribute to Jose Marti and to heroes and events of Argentine history, as well as meetings with Argentine businessmen and prominent intellectuals and artists, along with meetings with solidarity friends and Cubans living in that South American country.
