ACP summit rejects US blockade against CubaHAVANA, Dec 11 (ACN) The final declaration of the 9th Summit of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States that concluded in Kenya contains the rejection of the US government's blockade against Cuba.

Ines Maria Chapman, VP of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, chaired the Cuban delegation at the meeting, attended by representatives of 79 nations.
Speaking at the meeting, Chapman expressed the gratitude of the Cuban people and government to the ACP countries for their traditional position of rejection of the American economic, commercial and financial blockade, which has lasted more than five decades.
She stressed that in recent months the U.S. government has imposed harsher measures that in all aspects reinforce the economic war against Cuba.
She also explained that U.S. officials have even participated in direct actions of harassment against Cuban health personnel in different parts of the world and other actions of open interference against the functioning of South-South cooperation schemes that today benefit millions of people who need and appreciate it very much.
The Cuban delegation to the ACP Summit was also made up by the director of Sub-Saharan Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gisela Garcia; Cuban ambassador to Kenya, Ernesto Gomez, and the deputy director of International Economic Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Pedro Pablo San Jorge, among other officials.
