Cuba reiterates its commitment to the fulfillment of all human rights

HAVANA, Dec 10 (ACN) Cuban FM Bruno Rodriguez said on Twitter that Cuba will remain committed to the fulfillment by all individuals and people of all human rights.

We reject politicization, selectivity, punitive approaches and double standards, he added.
On October 3, 2019, for example, a new round of human rights dialogue between Cuba and the European Union (EU) took place in Brussels, Belgium, as part of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between the Caribbean country and the European bloc.
During the meeting, issues relating to civil and political rights, economic, social and cultural ones, and cooperation between the two sides were discussed in multilateral forums tackling the issue of human rights.
The dialogue, like previous rounds, was driven by a common interest in exchanging views and broadening knowledge of each other's realities and points of view, as well as current issues on the international human rights agenda.
The Cuban delegation referred to the country's results in the topics debated during the dialogue, which have taken place overcoming the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba under Donald Trump's administration, which constitutes a flagrant, massive and systematic violation of the human rights of the Cuban people; and the main hinder to the country's development.
At the same time, the Cuban side ratified the will to continue advancing towards higher levels of realization of all human rights for all, based on the mandates and protection for these rights established by the new Constitution, and it also expressed its concerns about human rights situations occurring in some EU member states.
