HAVANA, Dec 4 (ACN) A delegation of Cuban MPs led by Andres Castro, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Environment, is fulfilling a broad agenda of activities in Lithuania.
The Cuban parliamentarians were received by Simonas Gentvilas, deputy chairman of the Environment Committee of the Seismas (unicameral Parliament), with whom they exchanged views on parliamentary cooperation between the two nations, Castro said.
They also held a meeting with vice minister Neris Germanas, where they discussed bilateral relations, as well as the importance of tourism development for the economy, and the Cuban participation in the next tourism fair in Vilnius, Lithuanian capital.
Cubans also met with parliamentarian Ausrine Norkiene, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, about the potential for exchange and cooperation in different economic and social sectors.
Lithuania is a sovereign country of northern Europe, member of the European Union, founded as a social and democratic state of law, whose form of government is the parliamentary republic with a population of more than 2,800.000 inhabitants, in a total area of 65,000 square kilometers.
