HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 8 (ACN) No action can prevent Cuba and Venezuela from being united, said Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, who insisted on the need to end economic and financial terrorism against Cuba, during his speech today at the United Nations General Assembly.

Speaking in the debate on the draft resolution on the need to end the US blockade against Cuba, the South American diplomat said that it is not through political intolerance that relations between states should be managed, because this criminal practice undoubtedly belongs to the category of crime against humanity.
Venezuela reiterates its commitment to an effective and democratic multilateralism that allows us to advance towards a world of international peace and legality, he added.
At the same time, the Egyptian representative denounced that the recent measures taken by the United States against Cuba affect crucial sectors and have negative repercussions for the well-being of the people, creating even greater difficulties in accessing food, medicines and technology, among others.
For his part, Neville Melvin, speaker for Namibia, recalled that in 2016 they recognized the change of policy of the U.S. government towards Cuba, but the then hope of removing the blockade has been frustrated by Donald Trump's increasingly aggressive government policy.
Instead of moving forward to end the suffering, many steps backwards have been taken, Melvin concluded.
