HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 16 (acn) Cuban vice president and second secretary of the Communist Party´s Central Committee praised the performance of a sugar plant in the western Mayabeque province given its high levels of efficiency during the current sugar cane campaign.
The efficient operations of the Boris Luis Santa Coloma sugar mill are the result of the high-quality repairs and rigorous planning for industrial operations, said the vice-president, who insisted in the need to rationally use available resources and improve the industrial process to achieve larger production of sugar in a campaign being favored by weather conditions.
Along with the production of sugar for domestic consumption, the Mayabeque sugar factory has diversified its production including an important output of animal feed.
During the tour of the plant, Machado Ventura shared views with executives and workers. The top Cuban official was accompanied by the first secretary of the Communist Party in the province, Juan Miguel Garcia, and by the president of the Sugar Entrepreneurial Group, Orlando Garcia.
