US publishing house to launch book on Cuban aboriginal community

GUANTANAMO Cuba, April 25 (ACN) A book on the largest living community of Cuban of aboriginal descent will soon be launched with the collaboration of the New York-based Campana publishing house.

The book in English Language is entitled "Panchito, Cacique de Montaña", which can be understood as Panchito, Mountain Indian Chief, conveys the testimony of Francisco (Panchito) Ramirez from the community located in Caridad de los Indios, or Charity of the Indians, community in eastern Guantanamo province.

The book will be the English version of a work already published here in 2016 by Casa de Las Americas publishing house and will allow readers around the world to know about the culture and idiosyncrasy of a community that was thought to have vanished, but thanks to the insistence of Cuban researchers was saved from oblivion.
