New Cuban-Latin American Cultural Identity Program

Havana, Cuba, Jun 22 (ACN) Cuban-Latin American Cultural Identity. Its strength before economic and social transformations of the contemporary world is the name of the new program presented on Thursday in Havana.

One of its main promoters, PhD in Philosophy Sciences, Yadira Garcia Rodriguez, talked about the initiative during a meeting of specialists and journalists at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA).

She stressed that the call to its defense and that of the country's heritage contributes to social and humanities research on prioritized issues of life in society and an improvement of introduction methods to the results of official decision making.

The call is directed to educational and cultural institutions, family, social communication, social and political organization, in addition to the legal and economic systems in the country.

Garcia Rodriguez, Dean of the Social Sciences Department of the Marta Abreu de las Villas Central University added that the five-year application deadline is expected to collect and integrate its research impacts that can contribute proposals of measures to strengthen cultural identity.

It will also help in the recovery of national and regional history in favor of an education of values in childhood and adolescents, as well as a theoretical value of the historic and intellectual processes in the formation of Cuban and Latin American identity.

In addition to the identification of associated ideological phenomenon that converges in the Latin American integration process.

The classification and action options, ways and methods for the prevention and confrontation of subversive plans of the global hegemonic centers against the identification process of the Latin American region and Cuba.

This new program of science, technology and innovation is managed by the Marta Abreu de Las Villas Central University and its leader Garcia Rodriguez who according to its calculation, receives at least 20 projects in a period of five years.

Juan Luis Martin Chavez, Master in Sciences and Coordinator of the Social Sciences and Humanities complex, said that the foreseen research reflects a growing use and application of these projects in a broad sector of society.
