Cuba to open new telecommunications and electronics faculty

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 21 (acn) The Faculty of Telecommunications and Electronics of the Jose Antonio Echeverria Technological University of Havana (CUJAE by its Spanish acronym) will be officially inaugurated next Monday.

According to a note from the Department of Communication of that house of higher learning, the faculty will consist of the Electric, Telecommunications and Automatic Engineering degrees.
Recognized as one of the main centers of higher education in the country, the CUJAE stands out for its scientific activity and technological innovation, a fundamental pillar which involves teachers and students.
It also highlights by the comprehensive and continuous training of professionals, who have the highest commitment of contributing to the sustainable progress of the nation.
Last school year more than 1 500 students received their title of Architects and Engineers of this university, 1 002 of them from the regular day course and 500 more from the meetings system.
Founded on December 2, 1964, the CUJAE is a symbol of Cuban youth, a tribute also to the student leader who gave his life in order to give an end to Fulgencio Batista´s shameful regime.
