Young pianist to perform in Havana in June

HAVANA, Cuba, May 18 (acn) The Fourth Meeting of Young Pianist will be held in Havana from June 2nd to the 26th with the participation of young talented pianists.

Pianists from China, Belarus, Armenia, South Korea, Russia, Egypt, United States and Cuba will be on hand to perform some 20 concerts, reported Miriam Escudero general coordinator of the program.

New Cuban pianist that will perform are Karla, Martinez, Yanner Rascon, Patricio Malcolm, Yamile Cruz and Aldo Lopez-Gavilan.

The inauguration of the event will be in the hands of Russian instrumentalist Alexander Moutouzkine, who will be accompanied by the National Symphonic Orchestra directed by Maestro Enrique Perez Mesa.

Escudero highlighted the presence of other guests like Chinese pianist Sining Liu; Alexandra Bellakovich-Shkoda, fromBelarús; Khowoon Kim, of South Korea; and Edward Neeman, from the US.

The Cuban National Symphony Orchestra will accompany the piano concerts that will be interpreted Thursdays and Sundays, under the direction of Perez Mesa who will share the stage with Daiana Garcia and Jose Antonio Mendez.

Mendez will also direct the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Arts associated to Havana's Mozartiano Lyceum, will have a performance dedicated to the oldest repertoires.

The sites of this initiative by Professor Salomon GadlesMikowsky and the Marti Theater will be the Ignacio Cervantes Hall and the San Francisco de Asis Convent.
