Cuban National Ballet announces schedule for 2015HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 26 (acn) Hansel and Gretel, Eduardo Blanco's play that will be on stage on February 7 and 8 in Havana's Karl Marx Theater, is one of the proposals of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC by its Spanish acronym) for this year.

The play, based on the classic tale of universal children's literature, by the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, counts with the staging of Ivette González, Carlos Alberto Cremata is the theatrical director and music by Jules Massenet, Richard Wagner, Sergei Prokofiev and Joseph Luigini.
The staging involves the BNC Dancing Chair, dancers from La Colmenita Child Company and the National School of Ballet, and is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and la Colmenita itself.
In addition, it will also pay homage to the 15th and 10th anniversaries of the BNC Vocational Dancing Chair Workshop, and the Young Communist League Congress respectively.
Sources from the company run by Alicia Alonso announced that the staging of Swan Lake is scheduled for February 14 and 15 and from 20 to 22 of this same month, headquartered in Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater.
Also in this scenario, on March 14 and 15, the company will dance Tula, play created by Alicia in two acts and inspired by the life and work of Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda [ 1814-1873].
The public can enjoy from February 20 to 22 a combined program with ballets premiered at the 24th International Ballet Festival of Havana, last November.
By April, the BNC will participate in the Festival La Huella de España, event emerged in the late 1980s and dedicated this year to the region of Galicia.
