Book on Ballet by Cuban Pedro Simon Presented in Spain

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 22 (acn) The National Museum and the Reina Sofia Arts Center of Madrid organized the presentation in Spain of the book El Ballet, una devocion (Ballet: a Devotion), written by Cuban Pedro Simon, a researcher, art critic and director of the National Dance Museum.

Launched over the weekend, the text, with over 600 pages and printed by the Cumbres publishing house, compiles a selection of materials related to his work in the field of dance for 45 years.
Sources of Cuba's National Ballet Company pointed out that attending the presentation ceremony were, among other personalities, the director of the publishing house, Mayda Bustamante, and Roger Salas, well-known writer and critic of El Pais newspaper.
Profusely illustrated, El ballet, una devoción also includes historic aspects and assessments by personalities, as well as important sections on the art of Alicia Alonso, Cuba's National Ballet Company, the Cuban School of Ballet, and relations of dance with music and literature.
