HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 14 (acn) I’m happy to share my music with Cuba and return to a country that I love as my own, expressed on Tuesday in this capital Peruvian singer Susana Baca, one of the divas of world music in the region.
A guest of honor of the 3 rd Meeting of Popular Voices, inaugurated on Tuesday in Havana, the Latin interpreter commented she was happy to meet with Cuban artists and share her art with a demanding and expert public.
Thank you for thinking about us and for inviting us, stressed the winner of the Latin Grammy Prize on two occasions.
I will work with two members of the group Peru Jazz, which based on Afro roots performs a peculiar and novel music, asserted Baca, who will offer a concert on October 18 at the Covarrubias Hall of Havana’s National Theater.
During the press conference, Orlando Vistell, president of the Cuban Music Institute, handed over the Cubadisco 2013 International Prize for the CD La misma Sangre, recorded by the singer along with Ecuadorian Papa Roncon.
