HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 3 (acn) The Cuban-Venezuelan movie La piscina (The Swimming Pool) by Carlos Machado, received a Special Prize in the recently concluded International Film Festival of Nara, Japan, the Prensa Latina news agency reported on Friday.
This feature film has received other prizes, like Haciendo Cine, at the Festival of Yung Filmmakers (2008); that of the Association of Cinema, Radio and Television given by the Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (2011); and Best First Work at the International Festival of Low Budget Films (2012).
La piscina narrates the relationship between a swimming trainer and four adolescents - three of them with physical limitations, and the fourth one apparently mute.
