Eastern Cuba journal expands dissemination of scientific research in higher education

HOLGUÍN, Cuba, Jan 6 (ACN) The journal Luz of the University of Holguín’s ConCiencia publishing house, recently inserted in the SciELO database, contributes to the promotion of the scientific work of researchers in this Cuban center.

SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), a network of electronic publications of scientific journals since its creation in 1997 by a group of Brazilian entities, treasures research done in about 15 countries, mainly in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Luz editor Minelis Tamayo Megret, told ACN that entering this database represents the result of the efficient and sustained work of the ConCiencia staff to share the articles of the local university professors through Group II platforms, pursuant to the requirements laid down by the Ministry of Higher Education for the completion of postgraduate doctoral courses.

ConCiencia's achievements make it possible to notice the increasing impact—and number—of the searches made in this database, which has positive fallout on the consultation of articles issued by the said provincial publishing house and their use as a reference by researchers from all over the world.

Luz came into being almost two decades ago and, since then, its workers’ collective has focused on raising its quality levels and managed to register the journal in highly demanding repositories such as CLASE-BIBLAT, Redylac and, the most recent, SciELO.
