HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 1 (acn) The president of Ecuador's Socialist Party (Partido Socialista-Frente Amplio) Fabian Solano said expressed in Quito his admiration and support of the Cuban Revolution and stressed that "the enemies of Havana are our enemies too."
The socialist leader said that relations with Cuba are historic and very close and that they are an example for the Left in Ecuador and Latin America.
In statements to PL news agency, Solano explained how the Caribbean island nation has been able to fight the restrictions imposed by the US economic, commercial and financial blockade maintained by Washington for more than 50 years now.
Despite the blockade the brave Cuban people have managed to go on and develop fields like sciences and technology and they have supported many other nations of the world, he stressed.
Solano announced the upcoming visit to Cuba by an Ecuadorian political delegation.
