Information Note by the Cuban Public Health Ministry

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 30 (acn) Case number 30 of an imported Zika virus was diagnosed in the country on July 25. It corresponds to a Cuban traveler coming from Haiti, where she had been since January for personal reasons, who lives in the municipality of Old Havana.

After showing the first symptoms of the disease, she was admitted to Havana's Pedro Kouri Tropical Medicine Institute where blood samples were taken for study.
That health center's laboratory reported the blood samples tested positive for Zika virus.
The patient is still hospitalized, in good general health condition and with favorable evolution.
