Cuba and the U.S.A. Return to Negotiating Table on Friday

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 27 (acn) Representatives of Cuba and the United States return on Friday to the negotiating table for the second round of talks on the process of reestablishment of diplomatic relations, which will take place at the State Department in Washington.
The Cuban party brings a proposal to concrete a bilateral dialogue on human rights, in conditions of equality and reciprocity.
The General Director of the United States Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), Josefina Vidal, who heads the Cuban delegation to the second round of talks between the island and the United States, told the Cuban press that she has come for these talks in a constructive spirit, trying to bring stances of the two parties closer.
The representatives of the Cuban government attend the talks in the U.S. capital with expectations with regard to two important issues in order to create the adequate context for the reestablishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of embassies: the removal of Cuba from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism and the solution of the bank situation faced by the Interest Section in Washington for its financial operations for over a year now.
