HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 14 (ACN) As part of its social mission and in the context of the national program “Parenthood Days - Equal rights and responsibilities”, the National Center for Sex Education (CENESEX) steps up its work with the deaf and other people with disabilities.
Program coordinator Arahazay Lami Hormaza remarked that all actions, including workshops, talks, training courses and community activities, are designed for the sake of family conviviality and equity, since the autonomy of these persons is not always recognized, and intend to have an influence on the way to approach parental responsibility, caregiving and the respect of personal rights.
“CENESEX tries to be as diverse as possible, even from the viewpoint of its visibility and its messages regarding a comprehensive platform to teach everyone about sexuality, including those who are deaf or have any other disability,” she stressed. “We are taking steps to sign a Cooperation Agreement with the Cuban Association of the Deaf in order to engage its members in our network.”
