Founder of the Islamic League of Cuba dies in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 1 (ACN)  Pedro Lazo Torres, president of the Islamic League of Cuba, died on March 31 at the age of 68, due to worsening chronic kidney failure.
Lazo Torres was the founder, and the main architect, of the creation of the Islamic League in the country. He always maintained a revolutionary attitude, supporting and accompanying the fair demands of the Cuban people, among which highlights the struggle for the return of the Five Heroes and against the U.S. blockade, the newspaper Granma reported.
 He was an ecumenical religious leader, with a very active participation within the Cuban Inter-religious Platform, outstanding in the fight against terrorism and fundamentalism, for peace and inter-religious dialogue.
Cuban government sends to his family, friends and to the Cuban Muslims, its deepest condolences.
