French MPs demand an end to US blockade against Cuba

French MPs demand an end to US blockade against CubaHAVANA, Oct 31 (ACN) French legislators to the National Assembly sent a letter to Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, requesting her support in rejecting the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington on Cuba.

The letter sent by the France-Cuba Parliamentary Group of Friendship called in particular the democrat leader to propitiate the support of the lower House of Congress, where her party is the majority, to the resolution to be presented once again by Cuba at the UN, demanding the end of the blockade, Prensa Latina reported.
That resolution, tabled at the General Assembly since 1992, was supported on each occasion by a majority of the international community, since only the United States and Israel had voted against it in recent years.
Francois-Michel Lambert, president of the France-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group, recently declared that the US blockade is unacceptable and deserves international rejection because it causes difficulties for a normal life on the Caribbean island and it is the people who suffer the worst.
