Cuban President attends Inauguration Official Ceremony of the 2018-19 School Year

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 3 (acn) Miguel Díaz-Canel, Cuba´s president of the Councils of State and Ministers, attended the official ceremony for the start of the 2018-19 school year held in Havana´s historic center.

The meeting was also attended by governmental, politic and educational authorities, who noted the restoration undertaken by the Office of the City Historian in the ancient San Pablo College, current Rafael Maria de Mendive primary school, where Jose Marti, Cuba´s National Hero, studied.
A sculpture by renowned artist Jose Villa Soberon recreating the image of Mendive and Marti, his most outstanding disciple, was unveiled in the aforementioned institution as part of the patrimonial rehabilitation actions.
