Local Women from Santiago de Cuba ready to Celebrate Anniversary of the FMC

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Aug 8 (ACN) The members of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in Santiago de Cuba are ready to broaden their action plan to celebrate the anniversary of their organization on August 23rd .

Among some of the activities is the workshop called "The Ideas of Fidel in the Women's Revolution" on Thursday in the Vilma Espin Memorial organized by the Coordinator of the Women's Department of the University of Medical Sciences, Fiorelda Acosta Brooks.

The representative of the Provincial Secretariat of the FMC, Yumilda Perez told ACN that another of the activities will be the signing of the Book of Honor of the organization by outstanding women in the Justice sector, scheduled for Friday at the Provincial Court.

On the 92nd anniversary of the birth of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro on August 13th, main promoter of women's equality in the Revolution, the members of the FMC will celebrate in the communities, as Fidel preferred, this time in the 30 of November neighborhood.

Recognition to women that maintain the vitality of the organization will be held on the 18th in a ceremony in which the August 23 rd Medal will be granted to 63 residents of Santiago de Cuba, said Perez.

These activities will be held during the Assemblies of the 10th Congress of the FMC underway since last April 7th and will conclude this month. The Assemblies will begin in September in the municipalities and the first will be in San Luis, Segundo Frente and Tercer Frente.
