Team from the Havana Technological University creates world-class robotHAVANA, Nov 14 (ACN) A robotracer from the discipline Line Follower, first of its kind in Cuba to qualify for an international robotics competition, and named Palmiche, has been created by the Mambi Team of the Technological University of Havana (CUJAE).

It is an autonomous small-scale vehicle, whose objective is to cover a scenario established under standardized rules, in the shortest possible time.
With this purpose, Palmiche or robotracer has three opportunities to cover the stage, where the first chance is usually used in order to acquire as much information as possible from that space, and thus in the two subsequent opportunities to optimize the route and decrease time to complete the objective.
In this way, Cuba makes history with this prototype: a design and construction one hundred percent Cuban, developed by students and professors of the Robotics and Mechatronics Group (GRM) of CUJAE, in collaboration with the Faculties of Architecture and Automatics.
The Ministry of Industry also collaborated in the project, through the furniture company Dujo, donor of the melanin material, where the robot is going to travel in the Robotics Competition 2019.
But Palmiche's proposal goes beyond this important achievement of being the first Cuban robot in competition, since its creators have already begun to think about how to take it to the national industry.
