HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 17 (acn) Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez met on Tuesday evening with US democratic senators Claire McCaskill, from Missouri; Amy Klobuchar, from Minnesota and Mark Warner, from Virginia, who are visiting the island.
The meeting, which was also attended by the general director of the United States Office at the Cuban Foreign Ministry Josefina Vidal, focused on issues of bilateral interest, such as the process to reestablish diplomatic relations between Washington and Havana and the lifting of the US blockade of Cuba.
On February 12, Senator Klobuchar presented bipartisan draft legislation at the US Senate proposing the lifting of restrictions on Cuba, particularly in the fields of trade, travel and maritime transportation, among other aspects.
The three senators will talk to the press early on Wednesday, more coming up.
