Cuba: new school for physically handicapped children opensSANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Apr 23(ACN) The Amistad Cuba-Vietnam special school for physically disabled children will be inaugurated this Tuesday in Santiago de Cuba, where 120 children and adolescents from the eastern region will have all the conditions created for their education and rehabilitation.

In the center, located in the Boniato town, there are already scholarship holders from the provinces of Las Tunas, Holguín, Granma, Guantánamo, municipalities of Santiago de Cuba and of this city, they have 32 teachers and more than twenty pedagogical assistants, librarians and other specialized personnel in this education that passes from the five to the 15 years in the levels of primary and basic secondary education.

Attention to students includes physical rehabilitation services and specialized attention from a multidisciplinary team for which they have classrooms, laboratories, play areas, gymnasium, doctor's office and computer rooms, observation, stomatology, electrotherapy and magnetotherapy, all in an area with large open spaces and many trees.

In this way, the dreams of the Leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, of having in each region of the country a center similar to the Special School of Solidarity with Panama, in Havana, are being fulfilled, since another institution of this type is about to begin its activities in Villa Clara.
