The Spanish Meliá Hotels International chain highlights Cuba as a safe destination for travelers arriving in the island, said Francisco Campos, Deputy Regional Director.
The company's representative in the island said in statements to Prensa Latina news agency that "one of the great successes of the epidemiological situation in the country lies precisely in the recovery stages".
Campos pointed out that the opening of the chain's hotels will be carried out as demand in the sector increases, although it is already ready to operate its facilities in Cayo Coco and Cayo Santa María, where international flights could begin operations.
He affirmed that in this stage of progressive deconfinement, Meliá already operates two hotels in Varadero and one in the province of Holguín for the domestic market.
In this month of August, Cubans or residents staying in the hotels will be able to verify all the safety and security measures implemented so that they can enjoy their vacations in a healthy and safe environment, he added. (ACN)
