Cuba's tourism and offers for the sector were promoted in an online seminar organized by the Japan Tourism Board, which was attended by more than 420 representatives of travel agencies and companies from that Asian nation.
Katia Monzon, economic and commercial counselor of the Cuban embassy, participated in the event and talked about the projects of the Caribbean island and the security provided to visitors.
She referred to the actions implemented by Cuba to reactivate the sector during the Covid-19 pandemic, among them, the application of the Safer and More Hygienic Tourism Certification Program.
Monzon presented to the forum´s participants the new tourist poles of Cayo Cruz, Ramon Peninsula and Cayo Saetía, as well as five star excursions in eastern Cuba promoted by the Gaviota Tourism Group.
She affirmed that the island is working on a platform to facilitate the process of receiving tourists and reduce waiting times.
She announced the opening, when conditions permit, of the Telégrafo Hotel as the first facility in Havana and the second in the country aimed at the LGBTIQ community. (ACN)
