The Grand Hotel Iberostar Trinidad, in Cuba's third oldest city, is currently undergoing expansion works to increase its lodging capacity, as part of the broad investment program of the Tourism Ministry in that city, which also includes the Ancon Peninsula.
Considered among the best facilities of its kind and brand in the world, the Grand Hotel Iberostar Trinidad is located in the Cuban city of the same name, whose historic center is a World Cultural Heritage Site.
According to Reiner Rendón Fernández, delegate of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) in Sancti Spiritus, the project includes the construction of 26 rooms in plots of land adjacent to the existing hotel building, located a few meters away from Céspedes Park, better known as Carrillo Square.
Rendón Fernández explained that at the end of 2020, the Tourism Services Company began the demolition of the buildings next to the hotel, including the pizzeria and a beauty salon, which were relocated to other parts of the village, and its specialists undertook the process of studying the land where the annex building will be erected.
Along with the increase in housing, the expansion includes the installation of a swimming pool on the upper floor, which should contribute to increase the positioning of the hotel, the first five-star hotel in central Cuba, without taking into account the northern keys, said the delegate. (ACN)
