The USA Today newspaper recommends Cuba as an attractive travel destination, although the White House prohibits citizens of the northern nation from enjoying vacations on the island.
Dave Stamboulis, travel expert, in an article published in that media, recognizes the Caribbean nation and names some of its tourist sites such as ViƱales, in the western part of the country; Trinidad, in the central region; as well as Havana and its historic center.
The USA Today 10 Best section collects and publishes independent and unbiased travel tips from around the world.
In his text, Stamboulis affirms that Cuba has it all and cites the archipelago's many virtues, including miles of white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, colonial architecture, the chance to take rides in classic cars from the 1950s, its music and nature.
The publication notes that Cuba has nine sites declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, each one unique, remarkable and beautiful, and highlights the singularity of the island's flora and fauna.
Another of the places it highlights is Havana's Malecon, the strip of coastline that borders the north of the Cuban capital, which is 'a great place to meet local people, enjoy the beautiful urban landscapes and watch the sunset'. (ACN)
