Those who enjoy seafood have in the El Cayo restaurant of the Santiago branch of the Empresa Extrahotelera Palmares, a cozy facility surrounded by the sea, the ideal place for the variety and quality of the offers.

Only light boats can get there, and during the trip you can enjoy the marine environment and the natural, historical and patrimonial values treasured by the bay of this eastern city.

   Individual clients frequent the facility mainly on weekends and, in addition, groups of foreign tourists organized by the travel agencies that make the crossing through the Marlin Marina.

   El Cayo restaurant is located on Granma Key, an islet at the entrance of Santiago's bay, less than a kilometer from land.

   Located right on the water, it has three levels and allows you to taste good food while enjoying excellent Cuban music and views of the city of Santiago and the surrounding mountains of the Sierra Maestra mountain range.

Its manager, Roberto Figarola Marzán, insists on publicizing the attractions of    El Cayo restaurant, with capacity for 220 guests, including a hundred in the main dining room, 50 on the second level and another 70 in the terrace bar, located on the level closest to the sea.

   Choosing this gastronomic proposal to savor a good seafood dish, Figarola Marzán pointed out, also allows you to enjoy a unique panoramic view, which includes the Morro San Pedro de la Roca Castle, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. (Marlene Montoya, ACN)
