Despite the complex situation generated in Cuba by COVID-19 and the financial tensions, the civil construction of the Meliá Trinidad Playa Hotel, one of the cardinal investments in the tourism sector in Sancti Spíritus and in the center of the island, is today at 98 percent of its execution.

The facility, the first to be operated in the province by the Spanish chain Meliá Hotels International, is located on the Ancón peninsula, under specific environmental and landscape standards, with the María Aguilar beach in the front view and the Guamuhaya mountain range on the sides.

Pedro Luis Sarduy Gómez, construction specialist of the International Economic Association Construcciones Trinidad, in charge of the construction of the four-star plus category building with 401 rooms, explained that seven housing modules and three levels make up the Meliá Trinidad, a site that stands out from the rest of the hotels on the peninsula due to the use of modern technologies in its construction.

It has a central block where the essential services are located, a The Level floor and 11 swimming pools that form a perimeter line along the rooms.

Sarduy Gómez said that they are working on the completion of the civil works and the swimming pools, while they are waiting for some resources that will allow them to carry out other activities.

The facility will also have bars and restaurants, event venues, playgrounds and sports areas, while it is an important step in the expansion of the hotel plant in one of the most visited sites by national and international tourists. (Oscar Alfonso and Yainerys Avila, ACN)
